- Responsible for administration of all medical services at the facility (narcotic-treatment/OTP subtype) and for ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local law
- Responsible for the medical services provided at the facility (alcohol/other-substance-use-disorder treatment subtype); appointed by, and accountable to, the governing body
- Approves facility policies/procedures for early detection of complications common among clients with substance use disorders, medical emergencies, and medication-error prevention
Notes
NV licenses two distinct facility subtypes that both carry this requirement: 'facilities for treatment with narcotics' (i.e., OTPs, NAC 449.1543/.1548 — mirroring the federal OTP medical-director rule at 42 CFR § 8.12(f)(1)) and general 'facilities for the treatment of abuse of alcohol or drugs' (NAC 449.15325). An unlicensed office-based MAT practice is not shown to need one.
