Illinois: what a medical director of a long-term care / assisted living / group home must do

One or more Illinois-licensed physicians; skilled nursing facilities specifically must maintain a medical advisory committee of two or more physicians (a facility's own employed house physician may serve as one committee member).

• Advise the facility administrator on overall medical management of residents and staff
• Approve the facility's medical program in writing

This is a committee/advisory-physician model, not necessarily one named 'Medical Director,' and is codified for skilled nursing/intermediate care facilities licensed under 77 IAC 300 (Nursing Home Care Act).
