Texas: what a medical director of a mobile & home-based care company must do
Whether Texas requires a physician medical director for a mobile & home-based care company, the qualifications you need, and the duties the rule assigns.
Qualifications
Doctor of medicine or osteopathy, employed by or under contract with the hospice.
Notes
Confirmed specifically for hospice services licensed as a Home and Community Support Services Agency (HCSSA) under 26 TAC Ch. 558 — a hospice must designate one physician in writing as medical director. General (non-hospice) home health HCSSA licensure was only confirmed to require a 'clinical director' who may be an RN OR a physician, not a physician-specific medical director — do not extend this entry to non-hospice home-based care without further verification.
