Qualifications

Physician licensed and currently registered with the NYS Education Department (dentist, for a dental center), qualified by training, experience, and administrative ability.

Duties the rule assigns

  • Responsible to the operator for the professional, organizational, and administrative adequacy and quality of patient care
  • Develops and recommends patient-care policies/procedures to the operator
  • Develops and recommends medical/dental staff appointment and clinical-privileging policies
  • Supervises the quality assurance program and reports its activities to the operator

Notes

Applies when a walk-in/urgent-care operation is licensed as an Article 28 Diagnostic & Treatment Center (D&TC, 10 NYCRR § 751.4) — NY's general-purpose outpatient-clinic license, comparable to Florida's Health Care Clinic Act. This same section would apply to any org type here licensed as a D&TC, not just urgent care; a walk-in clinic structured instead as a private physician-office practice is not shown to trigger it.
